19:00-21:00 Evening Italian Language Class: Monday-Friday, Beginner & Intermediate Italian language courses.
Agent Audition Training: Receive constructive, individualised feedback and learn how to present yourself at an Italian audition and how to get hired.
Roundtable Discussions & Workshops: Group roundtable and workshop topics include: YAPS, universities, applying for employment visas, agent auditions, acting, self-promotion and career mentorship.
Individual Coachings: Available parallel to rehearsals, SOA singers work individually with faculty and visiting professors to develop their audition package arias, languages, interpretation, and artistry. These sessions operate with an open-door policy.
Masterclasses: World-class singers, teachers and directors give guidance on vocal technique, aria presentation and successful auditioning.
Aria Evenings: SOA hosts a formal Aria Evening where singers showcase their favourite arias.
Serata di Canzone: Transforms into an intimate music salon setting for an internal concert among friends. Singers explore art song, musicals, lieder and mélodie.
Role Study: Role Study is an option for participants to prepare an additional role during their time at SOA to include on their resume. Role study does not include participation in a production but is a chance to enhance your professional skills and experience. As with roles, role studies should be prepared before arriving at SOA. They are then coached during individual coaching time at the Academy. The role is tested for accuracy and presentation at the end of SOA and can then be listed on singers’ resumes.
All elements of the Academy may be subject to adjustment per the requests of faculty and facility availability.
